Recovery Podcasts!

When I entered treatment it was almost like I had to become un-brainwashed or "de-programed" from diet culture. I had spent years and years believing that carbs were bad, being fat meant you over-ate and were lazy, foods were categorized as good and bad, healthy or unhealthy, and calories were the ultimate and ongoing mathematical equation to happiness and health. Deciding that I no longer needed to abide by these rules or agonize over every morsel was really hard and it actually took a lot of time and support. One of the things that helped me was listening to body positive, health at every size, anti-diet, intuitive eating, eating disorder recovery podcasts!

So, I wanted to share some of the podcasts that I listen to that have been really helpful on this recovery journey of mine. I listen to them as I'm editing photos, or taking my dog for a walk. They especially come in handy when I'm having a low week and feel like relapsing. These podcasts answer lots of questions, tell recovery stories, encourage body positivity, teach skills and tools to overcome hurtles in recovery and have open discussion with experts and normal people like you and me! If you are on a recovery journey or are interested in maybe leaving your diet days behind you, I highly suggest checking them out! You can find them on iTunes or anywhere else you listen to podcasts for free! (If you click on the title it will link to their websites!) I've simply listed the name of the podcast, what it's thumbnail looks like and it's description from the provider!
